Dr. Katherine Queck
DVM, FAVD, DAVDC, Founder
Board Certified Veterinary Dentist®
Dr. Katherine Queck is the founder of the Hospital for Veterinary Dentistry & Oral Surgery and a Diplomate of the American Veterinary Dental College (AVDC). She graduated from the College of Veterinary Medicine at Iowa State University in 1986 and developed an early interest in dentistry at a time when the field was still emerging within veterinary medicine. In 1993, she became a Fellow of the Academy of Veterinary Dentistry and established a practice in Charlotte, North Carolina that combined general care with a focus on dental referral services. In 2016 she established the Hospital for Veterinary Dentistry & Oral Surgery in Matthews, NC and subsequently opened another location in Mt. Pleasant, SC. With more than 40 years of experience in veterinary dentistry and oral surgery, Dr. Queck has remained actively involved in clinical practice, education, and mentorship, helping to support the continued growth of the specialty.
Dr. Brooke Reynolds
DVM, DAVDC,
Board Certified Veterinary Dentist®
Dr. Brooke Reynolds is a board-certified veterinary dentist and Diplomate of the American Veterinary Dental College (AVDC). Originally from Pennsylvania, she graduated from the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine in 2012 and spent a decade in general practice before pursuing advanced training in veterinary dentistry. In July 2025, she completed her residency along with the rigorous written and practical examinations required for board certification.
Her background in general practice provides a strong foundation in understanding the connection between oral health and systemic disease, which she integrates into her approach to patient care. Dr. Reynolds enjoys all aspects of veterinary dentistry and oral surgery, with a particular interest in feline dentistry.
She is also a published author, with work appearing in both fiction and the Journal of Veterinary Dentistry.
Outside of the hospital, Dr. Reynolds enjoys traveling and spending time with her husband and their three children. Their home is shared with two dogs, Layla and Pickles, along with a rotating cast of small pets, currently including fish and a crested gecko named George.
Dr. Noriko Aoi
BVSc, MVSc, Asst Professor, College of Veterinary Medicine at Tuskegee University, Resident
Dr. Noriko Aoi earned her veterinary degree in Japan before moving to the United States in 2003. In 2007, she joined Tuskegee University College of Veterinary Medicine as a primary care clinician. A few years later, she established the college’s dentistry service and spent the next 16 years developing and expanding the small animal dentistry curriculum.
In 2023, Dr. Aoi pursued her long-term goal of advanced training in veterinary dentistry and oral surgery through a residency in dentistry and oral surgery. She is also a recipient of the Zoetis Distinguished Veterinary Teacher Award and is a certified facilitator in veterinary healthcare communication.
Dr. Jodi Reed-Lenhardt
DVM, Resident
Dr. Jodi Reed-Lenhardt graduated from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine in 2001. After completing a one-year internship in West Los Angeles, she practiced in Redondo Beach before relocating to Apex in 2003 to be closer to family. Over the following years, she worked at several veterinary hospitals before opening her own general practice hospital in 2009. During her time in general practice, Dr. Reed developed a strong passion for veterinary dentistry after seeing the significant impact oral health has on overall patient well-being.
Since 2019, Dr. Reed has focused on veterinary dentistry, helping pets live healthier lives through advanced oral care while also training general practice veterinarians in dental techniques and education programs. Motivated to further expand her expertise, she is now pursuing a residency in veterinary dentistry and oral surgery. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Jason, and their three daughters, along with their many pets, including dogs, cats, chickens, ducks, and a ball python named Tai. Her hobbies include scuba diving, photography, traveling, and volunteering with pet rescue organizations.
Dr. Todd Kirks
DVM, Resident
Dr. Todd Kirks is originally from Virginia. He earned his undergraduate degree from University of Virginia and his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine. Following veterinary school, he spent a year in general practice serving the southern Charlotte community, where he developed a deeper appreciation for the impact of quality dental care on his patients’ well-being. His interest in dentistry began during veterinary school and continued to grow through hands-on experience in general practice. Dr. Todd Kirks is excited to begin his residency in dentistry and oral surgery, where he will continue developing advanced skills in diagnosing and treating complex oral and dental conditions in veterinary patients. Dr. Kirks is especially passionate about improving patient comfort and quality of life through comprehensive dental care and is eager to continue growing as a clinician and advocate for veterinary oral health.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Kirks enjoys staying active at the gym, knitting, and caring for his collection of houseplants. He lives with his partner—also a veterinarian—and their two miniature dachshunds, Otis and Duncan.
